Answer by Line in the sand
When we are young we are more open to the possibility of fantasy simply because the reality of life hasn't hit us yet, there is a part within us that truly believes that say a man could travel through time and help people who messed up their lives. As we age we get more responsibility and there loose touch with that part of ourselves that could fantasize as we are too busy worrying about bills and kids, teenagers are in a stage of development where they are just starting on the path to becoming an adult therefore don't have the same grasp on reality than say a 50 year old man. In the end it comes down to maturity, i know when i was a kid i was fascinated by quantum leap the tv show, now i watch the episodes and laugh, then i think was i that naive but its all part of growing up.
