What are popular literature research paper topics?

I have a 8 page research paper to do on anything literature. I have to make a clear argument. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I'd say with something like that, you really don't want to do something 'popular'. Originality is impressive. Therefore, my advice is to go for something you like, or are interested in. Odds are it won't be absolutely cliché, which is good.

'Anything literature' is pretty vague. You could talk about universality of Shakespeare or you could talk about the copied fantasy in the Eragon books. You have plenty to work with, good luck :)
